SUMMARY

In 2023 I redesigned Pitkin County Landfill’s website to more closely match the more graphic and colorful style of their brochure, which I had recently also redesigned.

While landfills might not be the most glamorous of subjects, it was quite fun to design and build this website that relies on icons and color blocks to more clearly communicate a large volume of important information.

One of the greatest challenges with this project was that there wasn’t much existing imagery to use on the website as landfill photography isn’t particularly enticing. Instead, we focused on the use of icons to help create visual interest and make the large quantity of information as easy to digest as possible.
